Approximately two-thirds of children have at least one acute ear challenge by the time they’re three years old. Historically, antibiotics have been the treatment of choice. Still, with recent overuse leading to the development of resistant bacteria, the Academy of Pediatrics released new Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Acute Otitis Media. The new guidelines include a “watch and wait” step in the approach to treatment. 

This class discusses the vast options for nutritional, herbal, homeopathic, massage, and other natural therapies available to help support ear health during the “watch and wait” period many allopathic doctors prescribe when ear infections are suspected.
