Dr. Eugene Zampieron, ND, AHG, www.drznaturally.com, discussed about various Jamaican Herbs when he interviewed Dr. Lindsay Chimileski ND, LAc, RH (AHG).

Dr. Lindsay is a licensed naturopathic doctor, acupuncturist and CEO of Hawthorn Holistic Health, a family natural medicine practice in Hamden, Connecticut. She attended University of Bridgeport for both her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and her Masters of Science in Acupuncture. Prior to Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Chimileski completed her Bachelors in Human Development and Family Studies at University of Connecticut. Dr. Chimileski’s love of plants, passion for natural medicine and experiences working at psychiatric hospital during her undergraduate studies all lead her to naturopathic medicine.

Dr. Chimileski is greatly influenced by many healers. Throughout her education, she developed a strong mentorship with Dr. Eugene Zampieron while participating for many years of his EcoTours ethnobotany trips to Jamaica. She became enamored with the Jamaican people, culture and use of plant medicines. She continued to write her thesis on some of these plant medicines. She now participates in the trips as teaching faculty, with a strong knowledge of Jamaican plant identification, collection methods and medicinal qualities.

Since 2015, Dr. Chimileski has been adjunct faculty at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine teaching botanical medicine and nutrition courses. Dr. Chimileski teaches the core botanical medicine courses, allowing her passion for the plant medicines to drive an entire reorganization and restructuring of the way the students learn the material. Dr. Chimileski and Dr. Zampieron have collaborated to bring UBCNM’s plant medicine program to a new level. They are adamant that the students learn the powerful potential of plant medicines, how to effectively and safely use them and where they come from (not a plastic bottle!). Dr. Chimileski lectures for the local community at health stores and local schools and programs as well.
