Edible and Medicinal Wild Plants of Florida, and Supporting Our Immune System
Explore edible and medicinal wild plants of Florida. Edible and Medicinal Plants are EVERYWHERE-Did ancient people live where you live now? Were there grocery stores on every corner? People lived by eating the local plants and using them as natural remedies! Those plants are still there, you just need to learn which, when, why and how to use them safely for food and medicine.
Folklore and Science BOTH promote the use of Natural Remedies to enhance immune function; Including: preventing infection, increasing natural defenses, relieving congestion and coughs, soothing a sore throat, reducing a fever and quieting an upset stomach. Lets explore our Florida natives, such as Leaf of Life, Spanish Needle ( Bidens) Beauty Berry, Moringa and more.
Every year, the Florida Herbal Conference features educational opportunities for herbal enthusiasts through workshops, keynote speaker, plant walks, and networking, with chances to explore vendors and enjoy musical performances.
This year, we are excited to celebrate the 15th anniversary of gathering our herbalism community with a one-day event at .
This memorable event is designed for herbal enthusiasts of any level and vocation to learn from each other, as well as our keynote speakers, teachers, and the plants themselves. We will build relationships with our herbal sisters and brothers, meet vendors with services and goods that bolster our passions in herbalism, and we’ll get grounded in our practice through education, fellowship, and community in nature. All the while, we’ll dance and sing along with uplifting musicians.
The focus for our 2026 Florida Herbal Conference is on the healing flora of Florida. Our conference seeks to educate about and advocate for the conservation and preservation of our bioregional ecology. Together, we gather to begin the process of healing ourselves and each other as we help heal the planet. A portion of all proceeds will also be donated to support United Plant Savers.
