Who is Rosemary Gladstar?

Rosemary Gladstar is, literally, a star figure in the field of modern herbalism, internationally renowned for her technical knowledge and stewardship in the global herbalist community. She has been learning, teaching and writing about herbs for over 40 years and is the author of eleven books. Her work includes:

• Herbal Healing for Women

Rosemary received an Honorary Doctorate from the National University of Naturopathic Medicine for her life time achievements and currently serves on the board of directors for The National Health Freedom Coalition and The Association for the Advancement of Restorative Medicine (AARM)

The Truth Behind the Clinical Trial of the Enzyme Treatment of Cancer was one of the topics of discussion when Ellen Kamhi, PhD, RN, interviewed Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez.

Nicholas J. Gonzalez, M.D., graduated from Brown University, Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, with a degree in English Literature. He subsequently worked as a journalist, first at Time Inc., before pursuing premedical studies at Columbia. He then received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in 1983. During a postgraduate immunology fellowship under Dr. Robert A. Good, considered the father of modern immunology, he completed a research study evaluating an aggressive nutritional therapy in the treatment of advanced cancer.

Since 1987, Dr. Gonzalez has been in private practice in New York City, treating patients diagnosed with cancer and other serious degenerative illnesses. His nutritional research has received substantial financial support from Procter & Gamble, Nestle, and the National Cancer Institute. Results from a pilot study published in 1999 described the most positive data in the medical literature for pancreatic cancer.

Ellen Kamhi, PhD, RN, interviews Richard Mandelbaum, co-founder of ArborVitae School for Traditional Herbalism.

Who is Richard Mandelbaum?

Richard has been an avid student of our native flora for over twenty five years.  He has been practising as an herbalist since 1997, blending use of native medicinal plants with Chinese and Western herbal traditions. He is a graduate of David Winston’s School of Herbal Therapeutics as well as having studied at Rosemary Gladstar’s Sage Mountain Retreat Center, and in New York City with herbalist William LeSassier.

He is a professional member of the American Herbalists Guild  and sits on AHG Council (board of directors).  He currently serves as Secretary and chairs the AHG Policy Committee and the Committee for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Richard is also active in issues related to fair trade, sustainability, and social justice.

Richard Mandelbaum RH is a clinical herbalist with a private practice in Brooklyn, NY.  In addition to seeing clients he teaches classes in clinical herbal medicine, medicine making, and field botany, wild edible plants and mushrooms.  He offers individual consultations about the use of herbal medicine, and is a founding partner, director, and teacher at the ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism .
