DESCRIPTION:Register here: https://virtualherbfaire.podia.com/\nWhen September 10th arrives\, put the kettle on\, sit back (possibly with a few family members or close friends)\, and enjoy the virtual Faire! Know that we will be holding space for you all in our hearts throughout the weekend. \nHere’s what you need to know about how we’re doing things this year: \nFor the entire weekend\, we will be hosting a live meeting room\, including several smaller breakout sessions\, where you can catch up with friends\, discuss classes\, share meals\, or simply enjoy some camaraderie. A Faire staff member will always be on hand to answer questions or help with technical issues. \nThere will be seven class sessions (plus one evening “fun” class)\, one keynote presentation\, and an opening and closing ceremony. Some of these will be live\, while others will be pre-recorded. They will all stream in the same format from the Great Lakes Herb Faire hosting platform. There will be opportunity to interact and ask questions during these sessions; for some of the pre-recorded classes\, the instructor will be present in the chat. A Faire staff member will moderate all classes. The videos will be available to watch for two weeks after the close of the Faire. See below for the schedule and class descriptions; these will be updated as the event continues to take shape. \nFor those who want to squeeze in a bit more herbal learning\, or who can’t commit to the entire weekend\, there will be a separate intensive offered on Friday morning before the Faire officially begins. Ellen Kamhi will be speaking on “Cycles of Life – Herbs and Energy Techniques for the Stages of a Woman’s Life. More details may be found in the class descriptions below: \nCycles of Life\, Herbs and Energy Techniques for the Stages of a Woman’s Life\nAs spiral cycles continue\, like a Nautilus shell\, in ever intertwining paths throughout time and space\, so we are witness to the modern day return of the use of herbs and natural therapies to the forefront\, as recognized healing arts\, and energy medicine emerging as the intervention of the future. As is so often the case\, science often substantiates what indigenous healers have known for centuries; that plants and energetic healing make good medicine. I look forward to sharing deep knowledge about women and plant medicine\, from my own experience as an herbalist since 1964\, as a midwife\, a belly dancer\, a nurse\, a mother\, a grandmother\, and most of all as a student walking with you on this sacred journey. How the undulations of tribal dance was originally used by midwives who gyrated around women in labor- the ‘standing energy waves’ assist with the birthing process\, along with labor supporting tea\, and massaging the perineum with warm castor oil.  So many ancient practices are substantiated by modern scientific inquiry.  By focusing on specific assessment techniques such as  dowsing\,  nutrient and  hormone testing\, along with lesser known assessments including the darkfield microscope\, ‘saliva fern test’\, mucous test\, and Sympto-Thermal Method we can create natural protocols for enhancing fertility and conception. This same information can also be used for natural family planning!
