DESCRIPTION:Considering preparing and selling herbal products? Designing your own attractive labels? If you stay ‘low and local’\, traditional sharing and trading may allow you to stay under the radar. However\, to move into a more commercial setting\, such as health food stores and online retail\, there is a vast array of Good Manufacturing Practice and label requirements that must be met and mastered if you are committed to avoiding the very expensive pitfalls of becoming ‘pen pals’ with the FTC and FDA. In this lecture we will outline definitions of marketing and labeling that is regulated by government organizations in the United States\, and specific resources where a manufacturer can access compliance criteria. Ellen Kamhi PhD RN will share her expertise as an herbal formulator and regulatory consultant in the Nutraceutical Industry\, so you will not be forced to say “ I did not know” – not a defense! \nThe class will be live with the other participants and the instructor in real time. It will be interactive with question and answer sessions. \nYou will receive the Call-in number for the class at the time of registration\, along with links to Power Points and other learning tools that we will use as instructional materials during class. If you miss a class\, you can make it up anytime before the end of the course\, by calling into the recording of the class. \nCEU\nThis class confers 2 General CEU credits for Massage Therapists\, Dietitians\, Nurses\, and Midwives.
